12,000m2 new office development built within the walled garden of a listed building. The offices were mostly single storey with a roof garden on top. The building contained labs, restaurant, lecture theatre, swimming pool, squash courts, gym and residential facilities. Because of the depth of the plan the offices were mechanically ventilated, coolth was picked up from the ground to avoid the need for mechanical cooling in summer. Daylighting was used through most of the building. The building won a civic trust award.
