Client: Lewes Community Screen
Conversion of an existing brewery in to a 3 screen cinema complex. The 3 screens are fully acoustically separated from each other as well as the foyer ar-eas. The building also contains a film library and film workshop space. The thermal insulation of the existing fabric of the building was improved, and a new facade added. There is also a bar, foyer, restaurant and ancillary accommodation. Heating and cooling for the building is provided by a vertical borehole ground source heat pump. This was so that noise from a chiller was not an issue with the local residents. Solar screen-ing is provided to limit heat gains to the South facing main facade.
