Client: Earthworks Trust
Refurbishment of an existing 1070s building to create a world class sustainable building. The challenge is to determine which of the existing fabric should be retained and which discarded, bearing in mind the embodied carbon. The building will be heated from a biomass boiler. Full use will be made of the thermal mass of the building and night cooling to minimise summertime overheating.
