Our 3D Design Philosophy

3D Design Philosophy

We often make use of 3D CAD to produce details and entire models to ensure that the mechanical and electrical services will fit within the building. This also provides the architect with more information on the space required for the M&E services, and at an earlier stage in the process.

Building Model: Where a building layout is complicated we will often produce a 3D model of the building to allow us to understand the various adjacencies and to allow us to design the service routes through the building.

Shading Analysis: Where required we produce 3D models to allow us to carry out a shading analysis of the building.

Early Plant Room Layout: We often produce simple 3D sketches at Stage D to allow us to confirm the space that is required by the building services.

Route Analysis: Where the service routes are complicated we often use 3D to analyse and detail service routes to ensure that they can be made to work. This also shows the Architect exactly what space is required for the services.

Detail Coordination: Where necessary we produce detailed co-ordination sketches to allow the services to be coordinated with the architecture and the structure.

Plant Room Detail Coordination: Where the plant rooms, or service risers are very cramped we produce detailed co-ordination layouts to allow all services to be co-ordinated with each other. This also should ensure that everything will fit in to the spaces provided. Thus avoiding surprises on site.

Detail Components: Where required we will produce detailed coordination sketches to allow the services to be coordinated with the architecture and the structure.
